Act Out Theatre Company is Southern California’s premier arts organization dedicated to delivering high-caliber theatrical productions, multi-disciplinary arts education, and transformative youth development initiatives. We empower youth and adults from all backgrounds by providing accessible opportunities to engage, grow, and lead in the performing arts.
Our goal is to nurture emerging talent, spark creativity, and keep live theatre vibrant and inclusive in Long Beach and beyond.
Our vision is to bridge the gap between those families who have the financial capacity to afford high-level arts programs and those who do not. We also seek to provide opportunities for children who may not be able to participate in arts programs at school to have equal access to an exceptional and life-transforming programs.
The Act Out Theatre Company goes far beyond theater and art. Our goals are to provide a safe and creative environment where youth, families, and adults are:

Acquiring habits and skills that carry over into their lives at school and work,

Given the opportunity to develop high-level artistic skills including acting, singing, dance, movement, improvisation, stage management, theatrical design, sound design, lighting design, costume design
and more.
Without question, exposure to and participation in arts programs helps to create well rounded, high-level thinkers and leaders who are also equipped to develop healthy relationships and positive self identities. Yet equal access to the arts is becoming more and more of a challenge for young people in our community. In 2012, we recognized that there was a HUGE community of kids and families in greater Long Beach that were hungry for a creative outlet but could not afford any of the options available at the time. It is those children and families we specifically target with our numerous multi-disciplinary arts programs, which are currently offered to anyone ages 3rd grade and up.
